Livingston Cricket Club youngster Jack Jarvis has recently achieved his ambition of representing Scotland at under-17 level after he represented his country in two matches against English county sides prior to a visit to Ireland to play their annual series of matches.
Jack started playing cricket for his local club at the age of 10 and has played at both junior and senior level for the club.
He commented: “The junior section at Livingston is very well run and is very welcoming to new players. I’ve been so well supported by everyone at the club and can’t thank them enough for all their help”.
Paul Burgess, Secretary of Livingston Cricket Club, added: “We are all immensely proud of Jack and what he has achieved, he has a fantastic future in the sport and we wish him well in what we believe will be a lengthy international career.”
Meanwhile, the club has also been successful in achieving the Level 1 Active Assured accreditation from Wet Lothian Council.
This award is given to clubs that meet required operating standards, recognise good club management as well as demonstrating best practice in the areas of governance, child protection and health and safety.
Chairman, Gordon Young said: “This award is an endorsement of the many hours of unseen activity that goes on behind the scenes to run and maintain our club and I would like to thank those members who have given their support. I am delighted that we have achieved this status.”
