Jack Ross secures Hibs semi final warm up clash after Covid outbreak sparks Rangers ring rust fear

Hibs boss Jack Ross has lined up a friendly with Dundee on Tuesday to get minutes into his ring-rusty stars ahead of their Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

The Hibees are set to take on their Premiership rivals at Easter Road.

Ross had scheduled the game to give his players game time, ahead of Sunday’s Hampden clash with Rangers.

Hibs have had players, like Kevin Nisbet, away on international duty but the rest of Ross’s squad has been sidelined because of Covid-19 that has floored the club.

The capital club has not played since the defeat to Celtic at the end of October.

Their clash at Ross County and against Livingston were cancelled as Hibs didn’t have enough players to field a team.

Ross is also hoping the break will lift his team as they had lost their previous four games.

Dundee don’t have a Premiership game because of the semi-final fixtures.

It will allow boss James McPake to get minutes into his team before they entertain Motherwell on November 27th.
