'Jack Ross incoming' - Hearts fans call for former Sunderland boss after Craig Levein departure

Former Sunderland manager Jack Ross is being tipped to replace Craig Levein at Hearts.

Ross heads up the market to be the next manager at Tynecastle at 2/1 with 81% of bets from Oddschecker going on the ex- Black Cats boss since the market opened.

Levein, the former Scotland manager, has been sacked as Hearts manager and will leave his role as director of football with his side second bottom in the Scottish Premiership.

However he will stay at the club until the summer while working to "develop and improve the structure of the backroom and youth operations"

Hearts have won just once this season with Levein's assistant Austin MacPhee taking caretaker charge for Sunday's League Cup semi-final against Rangers.

Ross was dismissed by the Black Cats on October 8 after a disappointing start to the season.

He was previously worked at Hearts between 2014 and 2015 managing the under-20s.

Speaking after his time at the club, he admitted that his departure came because he was no longer a fit for the club's structure under Levein.

Hearts fans have now taken to social media to suggest that Ross is heading back to the club with Jack Ross trending in the UK on Twitter.
