Jack Ross in Scottish Cup plea as Hibs boss demands quick call on Stranraer clash

Hibernian gaffer Jack Ross has urged the SFA to make a quick decision on Saturday's Scottish Cup ties.

Hibs face Stranraer on Saturday in an early kick-off but it could be moved because of a clash with Prince Philip's funeral.

The SFA have already confirmed they are holding talks with clubs and broadcasters including Premier Sports about alternative arrangements.

And Ross hopes that a decision is made as quick as possible so that clubs can prepare properly for any switch in the fixture schedule.

With the fixture list already packed because of the change in the Scottish Cup, Ross hopes the Easter Road side will discover their fate soon.

He said: "It would be nice to know as quickly as possible. The governing bodies have to recognise that we don't just turn up and play football matches.

"There has to be an appreciation of the professionalism involved in it. For us to plan our working week, and plan our preparation and build-up for the game, players take this job seriously so it would be nice to know as quickly as possible and hopefully we can do that.

"It might not change anything for us but it would be nice to have confirmation as soon as possible."
