Jack Ross hails Hibs hat-trick hero Kevin Nisbet in Livingston win

Jack Ross has heaped praise on Kevin Nisbet after the striker netted a hat-trick to inspire Hibernian to a 4-1 hammering of Livingston.

The 23-year-old struck twice before half-time and coolly slotted home a penalty late on to leave West Lothian with the match ball.

The summer signing from Dunfermline Athletic started last week's win over Kilmarnock, feeding Martin Boyle for the opener.

And Ross believes there is even more to come from the forward as he lauded his three-goal haul as "brilliant"

He said: "He played last week for me as well and played a big part in the first goal. But because he didn’t score some people judge him on that.

"So to score and then go on to get a hat-trick is brilliant for him."

The striker started alongside Christian Doidge for the Livingston clash and showed some neat link up play with the Welsh hitman before being subbed off to a standing ovation from the Hibs bench in stoppage time.

Doidge has already spoken highly of Nisbet's abilities and the prospect of a strike partnership between the duo.

And Ross is similarly excited at the prospect, adding: “I’ve been really pleased with how Kevin has settled in.

"He’s made a big impression with everybody from the first time he trained with us.

"I think people were impressed with how good a player he was, so I'm delighted for him."
