Jack Ross backs former St Mirren defender Paul McGinn to shine after making Hibs debut

Jack Ross heaped praise on new signing Paul McGinn after he made his debut for Hibs against his old club.

The former St Mirren defender, who completed his move to Easter Road on Friday, came on as a second-half substitute charged with stopping a rampaging Saints frontline.

And ex-Buddie boss Ross said he was delighted with all his new signings after all three made their debuts on Saturday afternoon.

He said: “We’re in the middle of a punishing schedule at the moment. That was our fifth game in 13 days and we keep trying to freshen things up a little bit.

“Second half we were better. We’ve brought in three good players and I didn’t have plans for how much they’d play but they’ve all played a decent chunk of the game.

“Greg Docherty and Paul McGinn showed us what they’ll bring. They did really well.”
