Jack Kennedy thinks Zanahiyr could reverse the form with Quilixios at Punchestown

I hold Zanahiyr in very high regard and I could see him reversing the form with Quilixios in the Ballymore Champion Four Year Old Hurdle (4.00) today.

At Cheltenham we didn't go a great gallop, and I'm not sure it suited Zanahiyr.

Having said that, it might have suited him if he settled, but he just ended up racing very keenly.

Consequently he never gave himself a chance to relax and that took its toll at the end of the race.

In many ways he ran a funny kind of race as he dropped out a bit and then actually ended up staying on well to the line.

But he has been in very good form since, and I would be fairly hopeful that we can turn the tables on Quilixios.

The day starts with the Dooley Insurance Group Cross Country Chase (2.15) and I would narrow it down to Neverushacon and Alpha Des Obeaux.

My brother Paddy rides Neverushacon who loves it around this place. He won the Risk Of Thunder around here in November.

He loves the banks course in Punchestown, loves the good ground, and should have a big chance.

But I would say that Alpha Des Obeaux is probably the one to beat again. It was unfortunate that he was carried out on Thursday, and I think he could be the one here.

I then ride Dounikos Colm Quinn BMW Group Handicap Chase (2.50). He is a horse with plenty of ability who been given a bit of a chance now by the handicapper.

His last couple of runs weren't too bad, so if he builds on them he will have a little chance.

I would say that Mister Fogpatches is probably the horse to beat. He was third in the Scottish National last time and only has ten stone and seven pounds on his back.

We also have the Irish National winner in here in Freewheelin Dylan but that was off a light weight, so he might have his work cut out here. At the same time I wouldn't rule him out.

Willie Mullins has a strong hand in the Mares Champion Hurdle (3.20) and Concertista looks the best of them.

She was just touched off in Cheltenham by Black Tears so that was a massive run and probably the strongest piece of form on offer here.

Shark Hanlon and Jody McGarvery have enjoyed a great season with Skyace. She is taking on the more experienced mares in this race, and while I wouldn't rule her out, it is definitely her toughest task to date.

I'm hoping Roaring Bull can give me a good spin in the Palmerstown House Pat Taaffe Handicap Chase (4.30) after slipping down the weights.

He is a horse with ability who would have a chance if returning to his best form.

I would tell punters, though, to look out for Ten Ten in this race. He got caught up in the whole disaster at the start on Wednesday and could go very well here given a clear run.

Later on the card, the BARONERACING.COM Handicap Hurdle looks fiercely competitive, and I ride Tronador for Denise Foster.

His win at Aintree was a surprise to me if I'm honest. Something similar would be very nice, but my feeling is that this will be a lot tougher.

The Shunter does stick out on paper. Then you have the likes of On Eagles Wings, Chatham Street Lad - it looks really, really competitive.

But if The Shunter jumps well enough, which he does over hurdles, he should be the one they all have to beat.

In the Colm Quinn BMW Group Mares Handicap Hurdle, it is worth noting that Mark Walsh is riding Pure Bliss for Harry Fry. That's a notable jockey booking.

And I know Guily Billy is a nice horse and he could take some beating in the final race of the festival.
