Jack Hendry set for Celtic exit as Belgium move nears completion

Jack Hendry is set to sign a one-year loan deal with KVV Oostende.

Record Sport broke the story last month that the Belgian side were keen on the Celtic defender.

The Scottish international flew out to Belgium today for his medical and is expected to complete his move tomorrow afternoon.

The 25-year-old is looking to get his career back up and running after his loan last season at Melbourne City was wrecked by injury.

Hendry suffered a serious knee injury that required surgery in only his second A-League appearance.

He is now back to full fitness.

Hendry was back training with the Celtic squad before Neil Lennon headed for England.

He was signed from Dundee by Brendan Rodgers for £1 million but since Lennon has come in he has been on the fringes.

The defender is hoping his exposure in the Jupiler Pro-League will get his promising career back on the rise.

KVV’s owners, Pacific Media Group, are also in charge of English Championship strugglers Barnsley.

Part of their philosophy is to pick up young players and to develop them.

Hendry had other options in Scotland but made it clear he would like another crack overseas.
