Jack Hendry linked with West Brom transfer just hours after leaving Celtic for Belgium

Jack Hendry officially left Celtic on a permanent transfer earlier today - but the defender is already being linked with a return to the British isles.

The Hoops confirmed that the centre-back has joined KV Oostende permanently for a reported fee of £1.8million after spending last season on-loan with the Belgian top-flight side, and will now go on holiday before returning for pre-season training after representing Scotland at Euro 2020.

The 26-year-old becomes an Oostende player with immediate effect but the Daily Mail are reporting that West Brom are ready to offer £5million for Hendry - and his new employers are apparently keen on making a quick profit on their newest recruit.

New Baggies boss Valerien Ismael was interested in signing Hendry when he was in charge of Barnsley and that's likely to still be the case following his impressive displays last season, and his involvement in the Euros.

It remains to be seen whether or not Oostende could be seriously tempted by West Brom's offer, or if Celtic have agreed a deal to involve recouping a percentage of any future sell-on fee.
