Jack Hendry hits post Celtic transfer stumbling block as Club Brugge 'reject' bid from English club

Jack Hendry's potential move back to the UK isn't set to come easily as Club Brugge knocked back a Burnley bid for the former Celtic defender.

The 27-year-old was brought to Parkhead by Brendan Rodgers in 2018 and left permanently last year after finding minutes hard to come by on a regular basis. A successful loan at Oostende from Celtic in the Belgian First Division was turned permanent and he moved on to the eventual champions last summer. Former Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany is now manager at Turf Moor after their Premier League relegation and is an admirer of Hendry.

It is reported by The Daily Mail that the English Championship newcomers have launched a bid but the Belgian heavyweights have 'rejected' their attempt to bring him back to UK football. Hendry has established himself as a Scotland international with his time abroad on top of experiencing Champions League group stage football against clubs like PSG.
