On-loan Celtic defender Jack Hendry has been talked up as one of the best defenders in Belgian football by Oostende manager Alexander Blessin.
The 25-year-old hasn't had much luck in recent years having struggled to make an impression at Celtic Park and then suffering a serious knee injury while playing for Melbourne City in Australia.
But now the stopper has earned rave reviews after impressing in his year long loan at ambitious top flight Belgian outfit Oostende.
A silky, ball-playing centre back who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, Hendry has blown German gaffer Blessin away with his performances ... even though he can't figure out what the three times Scotland capped stopper is saying!
He said: "When I speak to Jack, I don't understand a word he says!
"But his team mates do because he's a great talker in defence. He makes the people he's playing with better. You can see them listening to him.
"He's been a tower of experience for us.
"Jack's the most important member of the team this season and he's one of the best defenders in the league.
"He's a natural leader and his presence has brought on his central defensive partners, Arthur Theate and Anton Tanghe.
"Their improvement is largely down to Jack Hendry because he coaches them during the game and organises them. He can defend, he's fast and he's also a useful weapon at attacks because of his height.
"When you get signed by a club the size of Celtic at such a young age, then you obviously must have a lot of qualities."
