Jack Harrison's goalscoring admission as he assess his QPR performance

Jack Harrison has stated that his man-of-the match turn against Queens Park Rangers was one of his best in a Leeds United shirt, as admitted he has perhaps been trying too hard to hard to find the back of the net in recent weeks.

The Manchester City loanee returned for another term after he spent the 2018-19 campaign at Elland Road and has further ingrained himself as a key member of Marcelo Bielsa's side

The 22-year-old netted a goal and managed an assist as the Whites defeated QPR 2-0 on Saturday and speaking after the match, he admitted that it was one of his finer performances since his arrival.

"It’s definitely up there," he stated. "Every week I just try and work my hardest and to do things like that. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn’t. Tonight it came off for me, and I’m very grateful for that.

"I’m really chuffed to get a goal. I’ve been wanting a goal for a while, the last time I scored was the first game of the season.

"I’ve definitely been trying for a goal for a while so I’m really pleased to have scored tonight.

"It’s important not to get too excited. At times this year I’ve been too excited and maybe missed my opportunities.

"If you’re scoring at that end in front of the fans, the atmosphere that they create is just immense, it creates an incredible feeling in the side. It’s great to have that feeling, I wish I could do it more often.

"I want to be an impactful player and contribute to the game as much as I can with goals and assists. That’s how you do it as a player in my position.

"I’m really pleased the stats are starting to come up a little bit, but I’m trying not to get too caught up in it and try to do this every week."
