Jack Harrison reveals the private ambition fuelling him this season

Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have blazed a trail to the Premier League from the Championship Jack Harrison wants to follow.

Mount, 20, and Abraham, 22, each saw regular match time in the second tier with Derby County and Aston Villa respectively last term.

While they are now regulars for Premier League Chelsea, Harrison is into his second term of regular football with Leeds United.

“Everyone in this team wants to play in the Premier League, including myself,” said Harrison, speaking after Saturday’s win at Elland Road.

“Those two are great examples of playing in the Championship and making that step up, so it definitely would be nice to do that as well.”

It is Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road on Saturday as the Whites once again attempt to go to the top of the division.

As with the build-up to the Queens Park Rangers clash, United will have a rare, uninterrupted week of preparation before Tony Mowbray’s side arrive.

“It’s going to be good for the team to prepare this week and again, like I said, not to get too caught up with everything that’s going on in the league,” said Harrison.

“Take it game by game and try to stay focused.”
