Jack Harrison purrs over Pablo Hernandez's influence as he delivers verdict on Fulham victory

Leeds United star Jack Harrison has issued his verdict on a vital victory over Fulham and the brilliance of Pablo Hernandez following the clash at Elland Road.

Patrick Bamford's first-half effort was added to after the break by Ezgjan Alioski and Harrison, putting Leeds 14 points shy of returning to the Premier League with seven games to go.

It was an important win for Marcelo Bielsa's side, particularly after last weekend's defeat to Cardiff City, and Harrison spoke about the impact of the win after the match.

“We knew it was a massive game going into it, last week we had a disappointing result so we wanted to redeem ourselves this week. We knew how important it was to come out stronger and get the result, that’s exactly what we have to do today,” he told Sky Sports.

“We know a team like Fulham, they’ve got a lot of talent on their team and they can be a threat at any time so we had to make sure we could control that. We had to get our pressing and defending right, which is why we made the change at half-time.

“Once we came out strong in the second half, we controlled the pressing and found it easier to control the game. We managed the game and saw it out.

A stand-out moment of the second-half was when Hernandez's masterful through ball to Harrison set up the third and final goal, with Harrison praising his teammate.

“Pablo has always been like that, a great player with great vision for the game, and we can always rely on him to make passes like that in a game like this. He’s had a great impact on us, he showed his ability today."

The match was, of course, played behind closed doors without fans in attendance and Harrison admitted it was a surreal situation.

“It’s been a little different but we try not to let things like that affect the game and how well we play. At the end of the day, it’s the same for everyone and we have to just try and get on with it. It’s a shame the fans can’t be here, with a result like that we know what the fans would have been like, but we just have to manage with the speakers.”
