Jack Harrison explains Leeds United's attacking struggles during lacklustre Brighton defeat

Jack Harrison admitted Leeds United struggled to break down a resolute backline after they were beaten 1-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Whites suffered a third consecutive defeat in all competitions after struggling to reply to Neal Maupay's first-half strike for the visitors.

Leeds took until the 61st minute to register their first shot on target as they struggled to find a way through Brighton's resilient rearguard.

It means United haven't scored in their last three matches, with Patrick Bamford yet to break his duck in 2021 and goals from elsewhere in short supply.

After a tough afternoon at Elland Road, Harrison admitted his side lacked their usual creative flair but felt the defeat was undeserved.

"I think they had a very compact defence, we struggled to break them down and get behind them at times," Harrison told LUTV.

"Our style of play is usually attacking and creating as many chances as possible but we struggled to do that today. They had done their homework and stopped how we play so it's something we have to look back on, review this weekend and be ready for the next game.

"I personally felt like there were chances coming. I had one which just missed the far post, I should've scored that. I always had the feeling that something was going to come.

"I don't think we deserved a defeat today. It's up to us to make the most of these games but we didn't today. We'll have to review and see what we can do better ready for the next game."
