Jack Harrison demonstrates Leeds United devotion to ease Marcelo Bielsa injury worries

Leeds United's injury crisis will be the subplot to the Whites' 2021/22 season, no matter the outcome.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have been plagued with persistent problems to key first-team players, which has seen the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Charlie Cresswell, Crysencio Summerville and Cody Drameh make several appearances in their absence, promoted from the U23s.

Summerville's latest senior outing came in Leeds' last game with Arsenal which ended in a 4-1 home defeat.

He replaced Jack Harrison after 31 minutes, with the former Manchester City winger succumbing to a hip injury sustained earlier in the contest.

After the game, Bielsa told reporters that Harrison's knock was not too much of a concern, and it was therefore assumed he would not be added to the growing injury list.

"It's just a big knock, a very painful one just below his hip. It's just knocks that prevent you from continuing to play, but they're not injuries that take long to recover from."

That said, it appears the player and medical staff are taking no chances when it comes to Harrison's availability.

The wide-man shared videos of what appeared to be light rehabilitation work in his home gym on Boxing Day, via his personal Instagram account.

Harrison was pictured running unaided on a treadmill, whilst also performing exercises which strengthen the hip flexors.

This is likely related to the knock picked up against Arsenal and Harrison's bid to return to the pitch as quickly as possible.

Losing another first-team player to the treatment room would be a blow for Leeds, as Bielsa could do with as many senior players as he can viably get his hands on for this weekend's fixture against Burnley at Elland Road.

Fortunately, Harrison did not appear inhibited in his movement suggesting he will be able to partake in Sunday's game if selected.

No doubt, it will have been reassuring for Bielsa to see one of his players taking the advice of the club's physios amid the festivities.
