Jack Grealish 'waited in tunnel' for Oriol Romeu after Man City draw with Southampton

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has described Jack Grealish's anger with Oriol Romeu that saw him wait in the tunnel for the Spanish midfielder.

The 26-year-old was a constant danger throughout proceedings at St Mary's and became a target for the Saints who fouled the England international on three occasions.

The sides shared the spoils as Kyle Walker-Peters' first-half strike was cancelled out by Aymeric Laporte in the second half, putting an end to City's 12-match winning run.

During the clash, Grealish was evidently frustrated following a challenge from the former Chelsea midfielder and caused a melee in the aftermath of a tackle.

Footage after the match showed Hasenhuttl discussing matters with his opposite number Pep Guardiola and in his post-match interview, the former RB Leipzig boss explained the conversation.

He said: "They had discussions with Ori [Romeu] because Grealish was waiting for him in the tunnel because of a few things that happened on the pitch that was not right but that's not for the cameras, they spoke about it, everything good."

Grealish played the entirety of the draw and, despite the flashpoint, he lasted 90 minutes,

City remain top of the Premier League by 12 points as a result of the draw.
