Jack Grealish urged to reject Manchester United transfer

Jack Grealish’s former Aston Villa teammate Gabby Agbonlahor believes the Manchester United transfer target can "do much better" than move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Grealish is a target for United, but may be highly sought-after by other clubs if Villa are relegated from the Premier League this season.

He scored a sensational goal for Villa in their 2-2 draw against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side earlier this season. And MEN Sport understands United have recently stepped up their pursuit of the player, who they view as a priority summer target. Villa boss Dean Smith was non-committal in his latest update on Grealish's future, saying "that’s a question we’ll have to answer in the summer."

But Agbonlahor, the former Villa striker, believes Grealish can have the pick of Europe’s elite teams, rather than just United.

“I am not just saying this as I have played with him, but I honestly think he is the best attacking midfield option that England have got at this current time," Agbonlahor told The Sun.

“That is why, when people say Grealish to Manchester United, he could do so much better than that.

“He could walk into any team in the world, even Barcelona or Juventus.

“For where Manchester United are now, he could go to better teams around the world, so he doesn’t need to limit himself to just United and focus on teams who are playing in the Champions League.

“The good thing about Jack is that he can run with and without the ball, play in different positions and score goals. He is the type of player that fans of football will go to a game to specifically watch him, even if they aren’t fans of Villa.”
