Jack Grealish troll awake and 'improving' after FA Cup final fall at Wembley

The football fan troll who taunted Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish over the death of his baby brother has woken from a coma after an accident at Wembley.

Alfie Perkins, 19, was "seriously ill" following between Manchester City and Watford.

The Birmingham City fan is now awake and "improving" in hospital, Birmingham Live reports.

He tweeted: "Thanks for all the messaged (sic)., big love to anybody who sent anything."

A second tweet added: "Sorry I haven’t been able to reply to all of the messages, even just looking at a phone screen for more than two minutes is too much. Love to all."

These tweets appeared to have since been deleted.

The Villa skipper, 23, scored  the only goal in the latest derby match at St Andrews earlier this year  - a game in which Grealish was also attacked by a Blues supporter who ran onto the pitch.

Perkins, who grew up in Birmingham, tweeted the midfielder three times with sick references to his tragic brother Keelan who died at less than 10 months old on April 2, 2000.

A second added: "Apparently he had a fall at Wembley yesterday. Regardless of everything, I hope he pulls through."

A third wrote: "Hope every decent Villa fan wishes he's OK."

"I hope he pulls through," a fourth added.

"We sent a crew to the scene. A man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital."

Speaking at the time of the tweets, a Birmingham City FC spokesman said: "The club has also banned another supporter for life for a series of vile and malicious tweets on social media, relating to Jack Grealish and his family.

"Birmingham City FC rejects all forms of anti-social behaviour.

"We will not tolerate the kind of incidents we have seen during and since Sunday’s derby fixture against Aston Villa Football Club."

Grealish, a boyhood Villa fan, is expected to lead the side out at Wembley himself on Monday when they play Derby County in the Championship Play-off final.

The winner will play Premier League football next season.
