Jack Grealish slammed for "gross stupidity" but still tipped for summer transfer

Andy Gray has slammed Jack Grealish for his "gross stupidity" and "massive error of judgement" by ignoring government advice amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Aston Villa skipper was fined £150,000 by his club and forced to issue an apology after going round a friends house just hours after urging his social media followers to stay at home.

Grealish was spotted stood near a damaged Range Rover which had crashed into parked cars in the Dickens Heath area of Solihull.

It is not the first time Grealish has landed in hot water, having previously sparked criticism for his off-field antics when holidaying in Tenerife.

Referring to Grealish's latest misdemeanour on the Keys & Gray Show, the beIN Sports pundit said: "A moment of gross stupidity. I’m very disappointed as I’m a massive fan.

"I’ve watched the kid grow up… yes, when he was 18 or 19 he had one or two issues, but he has matured and grown up, but he has made a massive error of judgement.”

"These kids, and they are still kids, don’t know what to do with themselves. Once you’ve taken their routine away, they are no different to anybody else, and don’t know how to fill their day."

The 24-year-old is a prime transfer target for Man Utd, who are keen on signing the midfielder at the end of the season.

Villa value Grealish at around £70million, but his latest actions could put potential suitors off of meeting his asking price.

But Gray feels the star will still earn his transfer in the summer regardless of his recent behaviour.

"The reason why he is at Villa is because he wanted to stay at Villa," Gray added. "Jack Grealish will go this summer, when the transfer window opens – and he’ll go to a top, top club.”

The Keys & Gray Show is available every Monday to Friday on YouTube from 6pm (UK), and broadcast on beIN SPORTS across the USA, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East & North Africa.
