Jack Grealish has been linked with a summer transfer to Chelsea.
In fact, the Blues are said to be the 'favourites' to sign the Aston Villa captain who has also been linked with an £100m move to current Premier League champions Manchester City.
But according to reports in the Spanish media, Chelsea have now moved to the top of the queue despite their transfer business looking likely to be centred around signing a right-wing back and a striker.
Links to Achraf Hakimi and Erling Haaland have intensified in the past week, but it would appear that Marina Granovskaia and Thomas Tuchel are planning to spring a surprise.
Fichajes claim the Champions League holders are 'favourites' to sign Grealish this summer now that the playmaker has fully recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of action for a large portion of the 2020/21 season.
If Chelsea are able to beat Man City to the signing of Grealish, then it's a case of England internationals becoming teammates at club level.
As well as the likes of Reece James and Ben Chilwell, the Aston Villa captain would then link up with Mason Mount and he's already heaped praise on the Blues midfielder.
"Mason Mount is another one who’s always training at 100 per cent," Grealish told England's official Twitter account. "He’s always top class out there."
In addition, Grealish has also rejected talk of a rivarly between himself and Mount when it comes to a place in the England side, thus ruling out any issue if he was to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.
"I love Mason," he said. "It's a bit annoying actually because he probably gets a little bit of stick at times from it, but I've always been close with Mason, I think he's an absolutely terrific player.
"I don't even think we're really fighting for the same spot to be honest.
"Like I said, I think Mason's underrated and he deserves all the credit he gets.
"I think people that know about football will understand just how good he is."
