Jack Grealish's true transfer value revealed as Edu learns how much Arsenal must offer

Arsenal fans have regularly made it clear that Jack Grealish is a player they want to sign but securing his services from Aston Villa will be a challenging task.

The England international has been an integral part of Dean Smith's side that have re-established themselves in the Premier League following their previous relegation and one that is now kicking on in the hunt for European football.

Grealish has contributed six goals and 10 assists in 22 Premier League appearances this term, with the Villa captain leading by example.

Those performances for club and country, alongside the fact he has a close friendship with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, has regularly seen fans push for the signing to take place.

ARSENAL BOSS MIKEL ARTETA EXCITED BY FANS RETURNING AS SOON AS MAY

An astronomical fee would likely be demanded by Villa and any transfer would be expected to break the £72m record fee that was paid to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille.

The fact that he signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal just last year, tying him down to the club until 2025, will further increase the necessary price for any transfer.

However, according to KPMG, who do yearly valuations of players based on the previous eight years' transfer prices and looking at individual players' position, age, nationality, contract length, performance, discipline, importance to the team and media and commercial potential, Grealish is worth less.

The England international has been issued with a price-tag of €71.2m (£61.59m) and is ranked fortieth in the standings of most valuable players.

While that is said to be Grealish's true value, such an offer from Arsenal would likely be met with a chorus of laughter at Villa Park.

Should Arsenal really want Grealish, they would have to submit a proposal worth significantly more to even tempt Villa into a sale.
