Jack Grealish's dad details banter with Noel Gallagher after arranging Man City gift

Jack Grealish's dad has opened up on the banter he shared with rock legend Noel Gallagher after arranging to send him a signed shirt from the Manchester City squad.

City won the Champions League last Saturday, becoming the first English team to win the treble since Manchester United in 1999 in the process. Grealish has spent the past week partying to the full, with City holding a trophy parade on Tuesday.

The England international frequently brings his family along to matches and his father Kevin was duly in attendance at the Ataturk Stadium. Grealish senior was spotted wearing a shirt bearing his son's name in the immediate aftermath of City's win.

And it appears he was able to get a memento which would leave any City fan incredibly jealous. Kevin has revealed that as well as some of the turf from the pitch, his son was also able to arrange a signed shirt for his dad, which led to a request from Gallagher.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, he said: "I managed to pinch some turf when we went on the pitch. I thought to myself, I'm having a bit of that. I grabbed a handful and I've kept it in a box.

"I said to Jack before the game, when you win the only thing I want is a signed shirt. He was able to sort that for me, bless him. It's got the whole squad's signatures on there, and he got Pep's autograph on it too. That's something I will treasure forever.

"Showing off a bit, I sent Noel a text with a picture of the shirt. He text me straight back saying, 'That's epic that is Kev, what a memento to have. Can you get me one?!' So I did. I was able to get him one signed by the entire squad as well. But mine is the original, his is a cover version!"

Oasis icon Gallagher is widely known as being a City superfan, though he watched the final while on tour in America. But the rock god has been able to enjoy the celebrations and lavished praise on City's new group of legends.

"The Champions League is symbolic. I think we've been the best team in Europe for the last five years, hands down. I just think the tiny little margins have gone against us but that's a vindication of the last five years. Domestically, you can't even argue about it," he told talkSPORT.

"But now, yeah the Champions League is symbolic but like Guardiola said, if we had lost that final we'd still be the same club, the same team. The cup competitions are very, very difficult, that one in particular.

"But to beat Bayern Munich and Real Madrid with the final really, it's like Messi winning the World Cup. It's the only thing anybody would hold against him, 'he could not be the greatest of all time as he's not won the World Cup', now he's done it, he's widely accepted as the GOAT.

"Knowing Pep, he'll want four in a row. He will want that nobody else has done, and the Champions League final is at Wembley next season. If there's one guy at you want at the helm of it all, it's Guardiola."
