Jack Grealish had revealed his ambitions to play in the MLS before he retires.
Grealish, 26, signed a six-year contract when completing his £100m transfer to Manchester City this summer, and has also spoken about his hopes of returning to boyhood club Aston Villa.
The England international has had a steady start to life at City, with three goals to his name, although he recently admitted he was expecting more after switching Villa Park for the Etihad.
A morale-boosting header against Leeds last week looked to kick-start Grealish's season, but he was then dropped for the win at Newcastle, with Guardiola citing some 'behaviour' issues as reason for his team selection. Grealish was later pictured on a night out with Phil Foden following the Leeds win, with Guardiola reportedly unimpressed with the pair.
Guardiola has always reiterated that Grealish was signed for a long-term period, while also challenging him to keep improving at his new club. Now, the forward has spoken about what his future after City could look like in an interview with NBC Sport.
Revealing his admiration of US soccer, he said he's always had ambitions of moving stateside at some point in his career.
“100 per cent, I’ve always said that,” Grealish said regarding a future transfer to the MLS.
“I said it to my Dad not long ago actually, when we were just speaking about anything. I said to him it was something that would definitely stand out. I’ve always loved the US and I think MLS is something that is really coming on now.
“One of my ex-teammates Carles Gil had a really good year there this year. I follow him on Instagram and keep up to date with what he’s doing. I know he had a really good season for the New England Revolution and he’s captain, and I played with him when he was at Villa.
"Seeing how much he’s enjoying himself over there, and stuff like that, definitely in the future I could see myself playing in America.”
Earlier this season, Grealish spoke about a potential return to Aston Villa, saying: "It’s a club that is so close to my heart and I definitely hope to go back there.
"That’s always been in my mind. Ashley Young has done it and I want to do the same, 100 per cent."
