Jack Grealish said Marcus Rashford's free-kick against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup was the best he has ever seen.
Rashford's long-range effort at Stamford Bridge secured Manchester United's place in the last eight of the Carabao Cup, where they will face Colchester United.
The 22-year-old was roundly lauded for his strike in the aftermath of the game, and Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish weighed in with his opinion on the goal the following day.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, he wrote: "I think this is the best free kick I’ve ever seen."
Grealish's replies were filled with disappointed responses from Aston Villa fans, many of whom suggested a Conor Hourihane free-kick for Villa against Blackburn two seasons ago was better.
Speaking after United's win over Chelsea, Rashford explained he was tempted to try his luck from distance because he had noticed how aggressively the Carabao Cup balls were swerving during training earlier in the week.
"It was the balls," Rashford said. "In training, when we trained with them. When you shoot, with that up and down motion, they can go anywhere and thankfully today it went in the top corner.
"It's a positive day. Very, very tough game and we're happy to come away with a 2-0 win (it was 2-1)."
On the first-half penalty he scored after missing from the spot against Norwich at the weekend, Rashford said: "I think you'll always step forward to take it. When the moment comes, it's just about trying to be relaxed. Thankfully today I was and it made the game a little bit easier for us.
