Jack Grealish says that he "could not care less" where he fits into a tactical system amid increasing links to an Arsenal transfer.
The Aston Villa star has been almost constantly linked with a move away from the Midlands in recent seasons, with Manchester United also rumoured to be keen on the 25-year-old.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of creative midfielders in the last year, with Houssem Aouar close to joining the club in the summer transfer window, while Martin Odegaard did join the club on a six-month loan deal from Real Madrid.
Grealish insists that it does not matter to him where he is deployed on the pitch, and that his free role at Aston Villa gives him the opportunity to make an impact in a number of areas.
"I actually could not care less where I play," Grealish told UMM after being asked about his No.10 role.
"Because at Villa I sort of have a free role anyway. Really, when we're in possession, I just have license to go anywhere really."
The midfielder also said that he has been improving his game in the last year by taking notes from Kevin De Bruyne's performances at Manchester City.
The England international says that he has tweaked his game after watching the Man City star - who he describes as the "most perfect" player in the league, and he is now seeing the results.
"De Bruyne is my favourite player," Grealish added. "I think he is probably the most perfect footballer in the Prem. I try and take little bits really out of his game.
"Although I had a good season last year, if you actually looked at it my big chances created weren't as high as other people in my position.
"This year my expected assists I think is the highest, and my big chances created is up there as well, so that's what I wanted to improve on, and that was obviously really looking at De Bruyne and his game and what he does."
