Jack Grealish drops transfer hint after Aston Villa thrashed by Man City

Jack Grealish has hinted at a potential transfer to Man Utd after liking a post on social media.

The Aston Villa midfielder has been consistently linked with a move to the Red Devils due to his impressive displays so far this season.

Grealish scored a beauty in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last month to further remind the United hierarchy of his talents.

And it seems the Villa skipper would be keen to score a few more on the hallowed turf at the Theatre of Dreams - but while donning a home strip.

Twitter user Marwan Ahmed posted an image of Grealish's knee slide celebration following his goal against United, adding: "This, but in a red shirt @JackGrealish1."

The tweet was liked by Grealish himself, before he later unliked the post after receiving criticism.

Grealish then made a desperate attempt to make amends, by liking and retweeting a similar post with different wording.

Lifelong fan of the midlands club @VillaTeaLady posted the same picture of Grealish's celebration, and wrote: "This but in claret and blue in front of the Holte on the 21st," in reference to the Villains next home fixture.

However the damage was already done, with one Villa fan quick to notice Grealish's actions, and said: "Not really the actions of a captain here Jack. Disappointing."

He then liked and retweeted this post straight after in an attempt to make amends (Twitter)

Grealish's error could not have come at a worse time for Villa, after they were on the receiving end of a 6-1 thrashing by Man City.

Fan Iain McMaster wrote: "Absolutely not acceptable to like this @JackGrealish1 after yesterday's s*** show. No excuses."

United fans also reacted to the post, with some eager to welcome Grealish to the club.

"We'll see you at the Theatre of Dreams Jack," said @varunb1085.

The Metro report that United could face competition to sign the 24-year-old, with Man City boss Pep Guardiola now said to be eyeing a transfer.

The City boss played down any interest in Grealish after their match on Sunday, but admired his talents.

"He’s incredible," said Guardiola. "A top player. I’m happy he (initially) stayed in the Championship to defend his club.

"He’s a talented player who always creates something. An exceptional player but too expensive for Manchester!"
