Jack Grealish 'dropped' by England as Gareth Southgate makes shock left back call

Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish won't start for Scotland's Euro 2020 rivals England in their opener against Croatia - according to a report.

The mercurial 25-year-old is regarded by many as one of the emerging players of world football but he will have to make do with a place on the bench at Wembley on Sunday.

The Daily Mail claim Southgate will go with a 4-3-3 formation and his backline will be made up of Kyle Walker, Tyrone Mings, John Stones and Kieran Trippier.

But the news that the Atletico Madrid man will start the game will also come as a shock with the big debate being who will earn the nod out of Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw.

Grealish has been excellent for the Three Lions and his maverick ability have made him an instant hit for his country since making his debut last year.

Impressed Jose Mourinho compared him to legendary Portuguese playmaker Luis Figo with his ability to draw fouls and keep the ball from the opposition.

Grealish not starting means could be good news for the likes of Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford.

Scottish eyes will be focused on the game at Wembley before they get underway against Czech Republic tomorrow.
