Jack Grealish delivers three-word Emile Smith Rowe verdict as Arsenal star angers Tammy Abraham

It's been quite the whirlwind few weeks for Emile Smith Rowe.

The 21-year-old suffered the disappointment of missing out on the initial England squad for the current international break before scoring the winning goal in Arsenal's victory over Watford and subsequently receiving the call from Gareth Southgate to say he had made it into the group.

He then made his senior appearance for the Three Lions coming on as a 77th minutes replacement for Raheem Sterling in Friday's 5-0 victory over Albania, and is expected to make his full debut in Monday night's World Cup qualifier against San Marino.

Considering he was only playing for Arsenal's under-23 side in their Papa John's Trophy match against Gillingham just over a year ago it's quite the rise for the Hale Ender.

One of the privileges of making it up into the senior squad for Smith Rowe is that he has been able to train alongside some of England's best players.

"It's crazy," he said when describing the experience to the England YouTube channel. "I was so nervous I was literally shaking.

"Some of these players - Harry Kane the captain - being next to him in possession. It's crazy just being next to some of these players and I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can."

Another of the players Smith Rowe has looked up to is Manchester City's Jack Grealish.

The pair's style and love for having their socks rolled down their calves mean that they have often been compared since the 21-year-old burst onto the scene on Boxing Day last year.

Grealish has already formed a close friendship with Smith Rowe's fellow Hale Ender Bukayo Saka, with the two being pictured together and featuring on each other's social media pages constantly throughout this summer's Euros.

And now it seems the former Aston Villa man has also taken a shining to Smith Rowe.

During a training session as England's players practised a drill in which they had to do keepy uppies and pass the ball to each other without letting it touch the floor this was on full display.

Grealish began to move closer towards Smith Rowe jokingly referring to the nickname by shouting "Croydon De Bruyne, come on Croydon De Bruyne!"

The gesture eventually led to some confusion as Tammy Abraham, who had also been trying to get the Arsenal playmaker's attention, ended up seeing his ball drop to the floor before yelling "Emile! I was calling your name for like five minutes!"

The positive atmosphere around the England camp is something players who have been called up to Gareth Southgate's group have constantly praised and it seems Smith Rowe is the latest to benefit from it.

He will be hoping to carry it on to the pitch when the Three Lions travel to San Marino to complete their World Cup qualifying campaign where he is set to start alongside Arsenal teammates Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka.
