Jack Conklin bids farewell to Titans, fans in statement on social media

Jack Conklin will be moving on from the Tennessee Titans in 2020, as the right tackle has agreed to a three-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.

According to his agent, Conklin’s three-year deal is worth $42 million, with $30 million guaranteed, and the 25-year-old will get $20 million in the first year of the contract.

Shortly after it was announced, Conklin released a statement on Instagram thanking the Titans and their fans.

“Thank you @titans, my teammates, and all the fans for a great 4 years! Couldn’t have asked for a better city to start my career in, I love you guys!”

Apparently, Taylor Lewan was a bit upset to hear Conklin was leaving.

Conklin was the Titans’ No. 8 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He hit the open market this offseason after the Titans decided not to pick up his fifth-year option last May.

After being named a First-Team All-Pro in his rookie season, Conklin struggled for the next two seasons, while also dealing with a torn ACL in 2017, and a separate knee issue and concussion in 2018.

With Conklin gone, the Titans will now likely turn to re-signing Dennis Kelly, who filled in for Conklin in 2018 and played well.
