Jack Colback reportedly told he can leave Newcastle United

Jack Colback is reportedly set to leave Newcastle United on loan.

The midfielder has spent the last two seasons at Nottingham Forest and the Reds were keen to bring him back at the end of last term.

However, he had since played for Newcastle in pre-season, but with manager Steve Bruce having to name a 25-man Premier League squad, Colback could be on his way again.

“By the end of this week I have to name a 25-man squad with three goalkeepers," Bruce said.

“The awful side of my job is that you have to disappoint a few players.

“All of them have really had a go for me but I can only pick 22 (outfield players).”

Now Sky Sports say Colback will be allowed to go out on loan again.

Forest fans would welcome him back, even though the Reds recently signed another defensive midfielder in Samba Sow, while fellow new boy Alfa Semedo can also play in that role.

Adlene Guedioura is keen to move on with interest from abroad and Ryan Yates is missing the start of the season after undergoing injury.
