Jack Clarke completes Tottenham medical ahead of £10m Leeds transfer

Leeds United winger Jack Clarke has completed a medical ahead of a £10million move to Tottenham, with the deal set to be announced before the end of the week.

Medical tests on Thursday are thought to have been particularly thorough after Clarke collapsed in the dugout while watching the second half of Leeds' 1-1 Championship draw at Middlesbrough in February.

He was rushed to hospital with a suspected seizure but was released hours later.

The winger, 18, is expected to sign a long-term contract, which will include a sell-on clause and an option allowing him to return to Leeds on loan if Spurs decide to send him out.

The forward made 25 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side last season, with 20 coming from the bench and he scored twice and registered two assists.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, a protege of Bielsa, wants to boost his options in attack, particularly with Fernando Llorente expected to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of June.

Clarke’s imminent arrival marks a return of Spurs’ transfer policy of signing the best young players from the Football League, which is favoured by chairman Daniel Levy.
