Jack Butland Rangers first day behind scenes footage including contract signing and photo shoot

This is the moment Jack Butland signed his Rangers contract as the Ibrox club offered a behind the scenes look at this first day.

Michael Beale identified the former Crystal Palace and Manchester United goalkeeper as his No1 target for the goalkeeping ranks and got his man on pre-contract with a four-year deal agreed between the player and the club as the summer business continues.

The England cap is already the THIRD player to sign on the dotted line this summer with Kieran Dowell joining from Norwich City and Dujon Sterling from Chelsea on pres as the Light Blues begin shaping the squad they want ahead of challenging Celtic's dominance on the Scottish game next season and making a bid to qualify for the Champions League.

The high profile capture of Butland is a coup with reports suggesting Manchester United wanted to keep him beyond the summer as a back-up to David de Gea.

However, with Allan McGregor's time at Rangers over, Butland has signed up and hopes to be the No1 at the club for years to come and play plenty of football and win trophies.

Rangers gave fans a look at the 30-year-old penning his contract at the club before focus shifted to the reveal photoshoot with the stopper putting on his new kit for the first time.

Speaking after securing his move, he said: “I’m over the moon. The club speaks for itself. No matter where you are in football, you know about Rangers Football Club. This is a huge opportunity for me, and I’m delighted to be here.

“I feel great and motivated at the age that I am, and I feel excited at what the future holds. Doing that at a club that is equally as passionate about winning and being at the top was huge for me.

“It’s an important summer for the club and we need to get off to a good start. Getting the work done early is hugely important, so that we’re settled and raring to go when we come back in.”
