Jack Antonoff Fiercely Defends Taylor Swift's Songwriting Skills Against Criticism

Jack Antonoff, of Bleachers, performs at the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Phoenix, Ariz., on Feb. 9, 2023. Antonoff received six Grammy nominations on Friday

Jack Antonoff, a renowned record producer, has been a steadfast supporter of Taylor Swift since their initial meeting in 2012. The duo has collaborated on various projects over the years, with Antonoff consistently praising Swift's exceptional songwriting abilities. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Antonoff defended Swift against critics who questioned her songwriting prowess, stating that such claims were unacceptable to him.

Antonoff's loyalty to Swift was evident when he swiftly responded to remarks made by Damon Albarn in January 2022, where Albarn suggested that Swift did not write her own songs. Antonoff took to social media to express his disapproval, referring to Albarn as a 'herb' and emphasizing that questioning Swift's songwriting was akin to challenging someone's faith in God.

Swift herself addressed Albarn's comments on Twitter, vehemently asserting that she writes all of her songs and condemning Albarn's remarks as false and damaging. Albarn later issued an apology, acknowledging that his comments had been sensationalized for clickbait purposes and expressing regret for any discredit he may have cast on Swift's songwriting.

Antonoff, who has collaborated with Swift on her Grammy award-winning album Midnights in 2022, is also working on the highly anticipated Tortured Poets Department, scheduled for release on April 19. Their successful partnership continues to yield critically acclaimed music, solidifying their status as a dynamic creative duo in the music industry.
