Jablonec boss fires Rangers 'expectation' warning before Conference League clash

Jablonec boss Lubos Kozel reckons Rangers' expectations are weighing them down ahead of their Europa Conference League showdown.

And they have postponed this weekend's game against Bohemians to prepare for facing the Scots.

Rangers now face the Czechs for a place in the league phase of the competition after they were stunned at home by Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League.

Jablonec won home and away against Latvian side RFS and have now won six games in a row in all competitions. And Kozel has already turned his attention to facing Derek McInnes' side. He said: "Rangers probably have more individually better players than us. But maybe their expectations are holding them back a bit.

"It's an exciting double-header for us. We certainly won't just want to make up the numbers; we'll try to get a good result in the first leg so that we can sell out the stadium in the return match in Jablonec and try to get through.

"Of course, we will face a very tough opponent. We will play the first match away, and there will be a lot of travelling. So from this perspective, we agreed that if we want to prepare well for it and have any chance of succeeding in Glasgow, we need to take a break, so we have called off this weekend's match.

"We won six games in a row. I think the players in the team are confident. But we know we could be better as an attacking threat, and we will be working on that ahead of the ties."
