Ja’Marr Chase shatters Chad Johnson’s Bengals season receiving record

Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is officially the owner of the Bengals’ single-season franchise receiving record.

During Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, Chase caught a 24-yard pass from backup Brandon Allen to put him at 1,455 yards on the season.

That shot Chase past Chad Johnson for the top spot in the Bengals record books.

That’s an all-time record for the Bengals from a rookie (who took last year off at LSU) who has endlessly shattered records this year.

After setting the record, Chase put on a jacket and didn’t return to the game. His team had already secured a home playoff game and there wasn’t much hope of changing seeding positioning. With Joe Burrow already out resting, why risk it?
