J6 rioter claims he is the true president — and, oh, he’s suing Donald Trump for $40 trillion

One of the most visually striking images from January 6 has to be that of the QAnon Shaman. A man in a horned warrior helmet with his face painted red, white, and blue isn’t exactly easy to forget. Although he may have been an avid supporter of Donald Trump back in 2020, the QAnon Shaman has since changed his tune and announced plans to sue the president for an obscene amount of money.

Jacob Chansley was one of the many Jan 6 insurrectionists who was charged for his actions on that day. While he had already been released from prison by the time Trump’s second administration rolled around to pardon the rest. He was still pardoned of his crimes by the president, something which Chansley celebrated. But just eight short months later and it seems the man known to most as QAnon Shaman is dissatisfied with the president

QAnon Shaman is suing Donald Trump

According to an article from the Independent, Chansley is suing Trump for $40 trillion. His rambling, 26 page complaint contains all sorts of wild assertions from claiming that he is the “true” American president to accusing movie studios of stealing his original ideas and using them in blockbusters such as Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and James Cameron’s Avatar.

Chansley names other significant figures, agencies, and companies with whom he has grievances as well. Elon Musk’s name pops up but the Federal Reserve, the National Security Agency, and even the State of Israel are all named in his lawsuit.

Chansley’s anti-Trump sentiment first caught the public’s attention back in July of this year. The situation with the Epstein files seems to have been the straw that broke the camel’s back as he went into an expletive filled rant against the president on X as per People. However, posts going at least as far back as May show that he has been writing some rather unhinged thighs about Trump for a good while.

The lawsuit is nonsensical

It goes without saying, but Jacob Chansley’s lawsuit isn’t exactly going to bring Trump down. His ramblings make little sense and his plan for the country were he to become president are completely illogical, for example, he wants to print a one-ounce golden coin that would be valued at $40 trillion in order to pay off America’s debt.

During his trial back in 2021, Chansley’s lawyer presented evidence that he had been diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder. It seems that Chansley’s mental condition may be a factor in this lawsuit and his admittedly unhinged posts.
