INDORE: A 17-year-old Kashmiri student has been booked for sedition for allegedly praising the Pulwama terror attack on social media, police said on Tuesday.
He is doing his graduation from a college in Neemuch district under a central government scholarship scheme, Neemuch SP Suraj Verma told TOI. “We received a complaint from the college management on Monday and registered a case under IPC sections 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) and other sections against the accused,” said Verma.
The student’s mobile phone has been seized. “He was taken into custody and produced before a juvenile board, which sent him to a correctional home,” the SP added. tnn
