J.J. Watt found out about Larmey Tunsil, Kenny Stills trade while golfing

What does a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year do on cut weekend in the NFL? Go golfing of course.

How does a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year keep up with his franchise’s roster moves? Through the scuttlebutt on the golf course.

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt admitted on Twitter Saturday that he found out about the team’s recent trade with the Miami Dolphins for offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and receiver Kenny Stills through a kid at the golf course Saturday.

This leads to a number of conclusions. One, Watt does not have his phone on him when golfing. Two, if he does, he turns notifications off.

In addition to acquiring Tunsil and Stills, the Texans also traded offensive guard Martinas Rankin to the Kansas City Chiefs for running back Carlos Hyde. The biggest trade was this morning when the club finally dealt edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks for a third-round pick and linebackers Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin.
