J.J. Watt busts T.J. Watt’s chops on Twitter about not winning NFL Defensive Player of the Year

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt loves to post images and videos of himself working out on Twitter and other social media platforms. The images inspire confidence among Texans fans that one of the faces of the franchise and most dominant players of the decade is still working tirelessly to perfect his craft in an effort to deliver Houston a Super Bowl.

Watt’s youngest brother, T.J. Watt, outside linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, had some commentary when J.J. posted a video of himself working out to social media on Sunday.

“I know you will roast me back, but . . . am I supposed to be impressed by this?” T.J. asked of a four-second video where J.J. was training with a green resistance band.

J.J. clapped back.

“Am I supposed to be impressed by you ‘almost’ winning defensive player of the year?”

T.J. recorded 14.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, intercepted two passes, broke up eight others, led the league with eight forced fumbles, recovered four others, yet lost out to New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore for 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

“I’ll be at the gym if anyone needs me,” T.J. tweeted back.

The Watt brothers will have a chance to play against one another in 2020 as the Houston Texans visit the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. The date and time of the game will be revealed with the NFL schedule is released at some point in April.

Nonetheless, when the Texans and Steelers do play, it will be a chance for the Watt brothers to let their sibling rivalry play out on the gridiron.

In 2017, T.J.’s rookie season, the Steelers played the Texans on Dec. 25 in Week 16. However, J.J.’s season had long been finished before then as he sustained a left tibial plateau fracture in Week 5 that landed him on injured reserve.
