J.D. McKissic says ‘I’m good’ after scary injury on Monday night

Washington running back J.D. McKissic scored two touchdowns against his former Seattle teammates on Monday Night Football in a 17-15 WFT win. However, late in the game, McKissic departed after a scary hit led to him being carted off the field.

The injury appeared to be an upper-body injury, possibly a neck or head injury; therefore, Washington proceeded with caution.

After the game, Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke that McKissic was walking around the locker room, which was obviously a good sign.

Head coach Ron Rivera didn’t have an immediate update on McKissic after the game.

On Tuesday, McKissic offered his own updated, tweeting “I’m good,” meaning he avoided serious injury.

This is terrific news for McKissic and Washington. First, for McKissic, anytime you suffer a head or neck injury, it’s scary. As for how it impacts the team, McKissic is the WFT’s unsung hero on offense. The more he touches the football, the more dynamic Washington’s offense becomes.

While it remains to be seen what McKissic’s prognosis is for Week 13, we’ll keep an eye on the daily injury reports. If he doesn’t practice by Friday, it means he will at least miss Sunday’s game at Las Vegas.
