J.C. Jackson gets snubbed from Pro Bowl and Darius Slay strongly disagrees

After 15 weeks of NFL action, only one player grabbed more interceptions than New England Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson.

Miami Dolphins’ Xavien Howard has nine and Jackson has eight, with the next-closest player sitting with six. In his third season as an undrafted player, Jackson is ascending on a level that’ll likely lead to stardom. Jackson collected 31 tackles, eight interceptions, 13 passes deflected and three fumble recoveries over 14 games this year.

Jackson’s arguably been more reliable than Stephon Gilmore and he hasn’t missed a game since his rookie year — where he appeared in 13 contests. All this being said and Jackson missed the 2020 Pro Bowl. Gilmore, Matthew Slater and Jake Bailey were the three Patriots to earn the honor.

Philadelphia Eagles star cornerback Darius Slay didn’t understand the snub.

But, Baltimore Ravens star cornerback Marlon Humphrey brought out the silver lining. The Pro Bowl is more about publicity and All-Pro honors dive deeper into the intricate details on the field. If Jackson earns All-Pro honors, he’d have a much larger accomplishment.

With this consistent level of improvement, it’s incredibly likely the 25-year-old earns the honor for the first time in 2021.
