MIAMI - As May rolls in, it's time to get the mariachis ready to sing "Las mañanitas" and celebrate the birthdays of some of the most influential Latino celebrities who have made significant impacts in entertainment and culture.
An iconic birthday this month is Danny Trejo's. The Mexican-American, born May 16, is turning 80 in 2024. That same day, enchanting Italian singer songwriter Laura Pausini will also celebrate her 50th birthday.
Mexican actress Victoria Ruffo, a stalwart of telenovelas whose performances have captivated audiences for decades, and Colombian singer J Balvin, are also May babies. But there is more talent celebrating this month. Other Latinos who will be blowing birthday candles in the next weeks are Venezuelan urban Latin music star Danny Ocean, Puerto Rican reggaeton idol Farruko, Spanish pop king Enrique Iglesias, and el príncipe de la bachata Prince Royce.
