Our long break from action was not an easy situation to come back to, but I feel like we had four weeks to prepare for our game against West Ham last weekend.
We don't want to use that as an excuse. There's always ways you can work to prepare yourself physically and tactically for a game.
In those two departments we lacked, and that's what cost us
I felt like we had chances in the first half to perhaps put that game to bed.
But West Ham are a good team, and we made a lot of mistakes. Big errors cost us in the game and it was a really frustrating one for us to take.
In terms of the result it was quite flattering for them, but equally a real lesson for us.
With it being our first game of the year, yes it was difficult for us to get going but I feel like we should have been ready to do better in the game.
I'm up there with the most senior in the squad. There are players who have been at the club longer than me, but in terms of experience, myself and Toni Duggan are up there within the team.

There are a few of us who are trying to act as senior heads at the moment to instil some confidence among the playing group. Just to give a bit of positive feedback to the girls when they do something good.
I think that's a really important thing to create around our environment to ensure we can turn this around.
With Jean-Luc Vasseur joining the club, it's been a new way of working for everyone. I worked with him at Lyon for about eight months, but that's obviously a different situation to what we have at Everton.
We've got a completely different squad, a team that's at a completely different level and stage of their development as Lyon. We're a team that's perhaps having teething problems, but we do see the leadership as being essential to move us forward.
Obviously for us it's a new way of working with the manager as well, to relay his work into the girls and vice-versa is quite difficult.
I feel like we've just got to keep working hard and taking on board any information we're being given.
My individual role on the pitch has changed significantly, I'm playing more of a defensive role.
One of my strengths is going forward - assisting, scoring goals and contributing to creative actions in the team. So from that perspective it's been a different challenge for me to adapt my game as well as different formations and styles.
There's been heaps of changes. My role is in some ways different, but I always try and give my all for the team.
I certainly don't think I've hit my highest performance levels yet this season, I like to think the best it yet to come in that perspective. But I feel like it's all about the team.
We need to make sure we're all pulling in the right direction, sticking together and when we're faced with a bit of adversity we've got to stand up and rise to the challenge.
We probably need to take our eyes off the end goal a little bit at the moment and focus on the processes, sort of the basic stuff which is part of football and taking care of the things you can control.
Don't worry about the things you can't control.
We've had to strip it down a little bit to basics, but we've got a really good group and I'm really proud of everyone for sticking together when things haven't really gone our way.
This weekend it's the FA Cup, and a large contingent of this squad played in that final where we almost, almost got our hands on the trophy.
It wasn't to be, but I'd like to think that experience has fuelled us and set a fire up inside us to get back to Wembley.
It'll be a difficult process of course. Maybe it's an idea for us to try and get some momentum through the FA Cup and get some confidence back in that competition.
We need to be the most professional we've ever been leading into the game against Huddersfield, I think we've trained well this week.
Hopefully, our professionalism and quality will shine through. There's a huge incentive for them there, they'll probably look at our league form and feel like it's a game they can maybe do something.
We've got to be highly professional with the situation and hope our quality shines through.
