Police have found a body in the search for a missing 20-year-old man from Ripley. Officers made the discovery in Butterley Reservoir earlier in the afternoon on Tuesday, May 3 which has since been identified as that of Izaak Pollard.
He was reported missing from his home in Ripley on Friday, April 29, with his disappearance prompting several appeals across the Bank Holiday weekend. Speaking on Sunday, May 1, Izaak's stepmum Nina Summerton said he was a shy character and that his disappearance was "really out of character".
She said there were eight search teams looking for Izaak in places such as Ripley to Belper, Matlock and Cromford. A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: "Izaak’s family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this extremely sad time.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
