Incoming Rangers keeper Ivor Pandur revealed he was delighted to miss an all-expenses-paid promotion party to Las Vegas because he prefers the quiet life.

The Ibrox side look set to complete the transfer of Hull City's Croatian international keeper, with Jack Butland heading in the opposite direction.

Pandur helped his club clinch promotion to the English Premier League after they won the play-off final at Wembley against Middlesbrough. Their reward was an all-expenses trip to Vegas, paid for by club owner Acun Ilicali.

However, Pandur chose to head home instead and enjoy a couple of days off in his homeland before the World Cup training camp, and he insisted he had no regrets. He said: "I had a fairytale year. I won promotion to the Premier League, fulfilled a childhood dream, and I am at the World Cup... It's worth making a film about!

"But I don't regret not going to Las Vegas, I'm not a big party person, I can't say I would have particularly enjoyed it. I prefer to be surrounded by friends and my girlfriend. I went to the seaside in Croatia instead.

"It was the best break I've ever had; it flew by. That's what fulfils me the most. Luckily, I've never been into nightlife, but I know how much the English love it; I'm happy for them. I like it better on Svezanj beach than in Las Vegas. That's my favourite place.

"My teammates got a private plane, everything for free, hotel, restaurants, clubs, bars on the beach, everything was booked, and they got pocket money. It was like a movie scene. What our president promises, he delivers.

"The guys deserve it. We'll never all be together again; they'll remember it for the rest of their lives. But I'm not sorry at all, I know why I went back home and what a privilege it is to be in the national team.

"I'm glad for my teammates; they did their job, and they should enjoy it."
