Back in February, we all wondered why the Los Angeles Lakers would send promising center Ivica Zubac to the Clippers in the deal for Mike Muscala. It was a real head-scratcher when the 7-foot-1 Zubac showed flashes of talent and he was just turning 22 years old this year.
During his First Take appearance on Monday, Magic Johnson was asked about dealing Zubac — who had 18 points and 15 rebounds in the Game 3 loss against the Warriors as a member of the Clippers — and he tried to save face by saying he dealt a player set to be a restricted free agent and that he wanted the future cap space to use on getting help for LeBron James:
Zubac appeared to see Johnson’s comments, because this tweet showed up soon after Magic’s appearance:
That’s got to mean he’s laughing at Johnson, right?
