I’ve found the best Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 pre-order deals in the UK

There’s an all-new Samsung Galaxy foldable with a new shorter form factor - (Alex Lee/The Independent)

Samsung has just unveiled a host of new Galaxy devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event – the most interesting of which is the shorter, squatter and wider Galaxy Z Fold 8, which closely resembles the form factor expected for the iPhone Ultra.

Like Apple, Samsung can’t escape the global memory crunch. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is effectively the successor to last year's Z Fold 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, have both received a hefty price hike. That said, Samsung’s new wider, shorter Galaxy Z Fold 8 is more affordable and might end up being the most popular in terms of design (yes, the names are all very confusing).

Available to pre-order now, here’s everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8’s price, plus the best pre-order deals in the UK as they drop.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 price

Samsung has expanded its foldable line-up this year by introducing a more affordable Galaxy Z Fold 8 alongside the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That means there are now two book-style foldables to choose from, as well as the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra starts at £1,899, making it £200 more expensive than last year's Galaxy Z Fold 7. The new passport-style Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at £1,699, making it £100 cheaper than the previous Fold 7. The biggest compromise comes in the camera department, with the Fold 8 featuring a less advanced camera system compared to the Ultra.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 has also received a price increase. It now starts at £1,149 for the 256GB model, which is £100 more than last year's Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes in lavender, graphite and cream, with pistachio available exclusively through Samsung. It is available with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra comes in violet shadow, graphite and cream, with green shadow exclusive to Samsung. It is also available with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of storage.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 comes in pink, graphite and cream, with mint available exclusively through Samsung. It is available with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Best Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 trade-in deals

Sadly, Samsung has culled its storage upgrade pre-order bonuses for its latest handsets, which is understandable given the cost of memory right now. But if you’re after a discount, you can still save some cash by pre-ordering directly through Samsung.

Samsung will give you up to £752 when you trade in your old device, and you can get an extra £100 discount when you use the promotional code Z82 at checkout. Not everyone will get the full £752 of course, the newer (and more expensive) the phone, the higher the trade-in value. But you will definitely get a guaranteed £100 discount by trading in. You can spread the cost with 0 per cent finance through Samsung Finance+, and you'll also get six months of Google AI Pro included with your purchase for six months.
