Ivanka Trump's Boris Johnson Twitter goof almost makes this whole thing worth it

Ivanka Trump tweeted her congratulations to Boris Johnson after his Tory leadership election victory.

But it appears she thinks Mr Johnson is about to become Prime Minister of a single London borough.

After news of his landslide victory was announced, the First Daughter tweeted: "Congratulations Boris Johnson on becoming the next Prime Minister of the United Kingston."

Kingston upon Thames is a Royal Borough in south west London.

Lib Dem Sir Ed Davey and Tory Zac Goldsmith are its MPs.

Ms Trump later corrected the tweet. But here's the original in all its glory.

Earlier, Ivanka's father, Donald Trump congratulated Mr Johnson, saying he would be "great."

The US President attempted to wipe the slate clean days after launching a ferocious attack on Theresa May and the UK's Ambassador to Washington.

Trump branded Mrs May "foolish" over Brexit and said Britain's Ambassador was "wacky" after leaked diplomatic cables branded his White House "inept".

But Boris Johnson appears to have won Trump's approval after failing to promise the Ambassador - Sir Kim Darroch - could keep his job.

The US President tweeted: "Congratulations to Boris Johnson on becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He will be great!"
