Ivanka Trump causes confusion by mistakenly tagging Meat Loaf in photo with father

Twitter users were left perplexed after Ivanka Trump tagged Meat Loaf in a picture she took with her father Donald Trump.

The US president and Ms Trump were aboard Air Force One when she shared the picture, and tagged the American singer in the post, apparently by mistake on Monday.

They were on their way to a campaign event in Georgia, which took place on the eve of two runoff elections for the state’s senate seats.

“Off to Georgia with Dad! Get out and VOTE Georgia!!!,” wrote Ms Trump, who smiled in the picture. The US president, meanwhile, sat scrolling through his mobile phone behind her.

Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, who are up against Democratic challengers on Tuesday, were tagged by Ms Trump.

As was the Republican party, the White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino, and the American singer Meat Loaf.

Twitter users wondered why, with many asking whether or not Meat Loaf, whose username is @RealMeatLoaf, was tagged instead of the president, whose Twitter username is @realDonaldTrump.

"Who among us hasn't accidentally tagged dad as Meat Loaf?", one user wrote.

Another said: "I would just like to point out that she didn't tag her dad in this picture. However, she did tag Meat Loaf. I feel like there is some symbolism in that."

Mr Trump went on to tell rally goers in Georgia that Tuesday’s runoff elections were "your last chance to save the America that we love", amid allegations of election fraud.

Republican control over the US senate is at stake, with Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock both needing to win their races.
